The Practical Case on Why We Need the Humanities

“We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change we seek.” -Barack Obama.

As long as humans are concerned, humanities aren’t a discipline that remains to be studied in the educational field for which students look for arts and humanities homework help. But in today’s era, humanities are dying slowly in human beings. The glorified words by the US president Mr. Barack Obama are one such enlightening path for the humanities and humanism remains among us. No matter how much you try to ignore the fact, you are the one who can either make the future of your country bloom and blossom or can turn it into the biggest bane.

If we talk about humanity in today’s world, we will agree on how brutal the world has become. Compared to Hitler’s ruling era and now the democratic countries world, the stone-hearted people are everywhere because humanity is dying.

Talking about an event that happened in the recent past, every one of us is aware of the George Floyd murder story, and that was one of the acts of which humanity still feels ashamed. Leaving away “humanity” as an educational subject but looking at humanity as the behavior of society, we can learn a lot from that and bring in some better changes in the community. Taking that practical case as our discussion for today, let’s see how humanity struggles.

The George Floyd Case

On May 25th, 2020, humanity took such a drastic change that the brutality became the talk of the town. Fighting against racism since 2013, the Black Lives Matter movement took a fiery adherence in 2020 when the most significant global pandemic hit the world. On the one hand, where doctors were giving a new definition to humanity, it was a police person that gave a white spot on the black sheet.

A store clerk suspected that George Floyd had given a counterfeit 20-dollar bill. When the police arrived at the scene, George Floyd was assaulted by one of the police officers, Derek Chauvin. The police person knelt on George’s neck and back for 9 minutes and 29 seconds, and before taking his last breath in Minneapolis’s soil, Floyd’s last words were, “I can’t breathe.”

This shameful act of humanity shown by the white policeman only because George was a black African-American human being changed the perspective of many. Many like George had to die over unfounded suspicions only because they were black. The BLM movement (abbreviated from Black Lives Matter) was started in 2013, but it was George Floyd’s case that brought the limelight to this topic internationally. Flooded with the BLM posters across all the social media channels, an estimated 15 to 26 million people participated in the Black Lives Matter protest in the US, which is the most significant US protest in history.

Relating the words to Mr. Obama’s quote, the father of the Indian nation, Mahatma Gandhi, had similar words to share, “Be the change you want to see in the world.” If you seek for this world to be a better place and humanity remains respectable, then you should take things into your hands and show your responsibilities rather than only looking for cheap homework help to get your work done.

You and Humanity!

As mentioned above, we saw a practical case about how racism among black people has given birth to one of the most significant movements of humanity across the globe. Here’s a question: Do you think a person should be countable because of their skin color? So, what if he is a black man? Can he be a nice human being? Is it necessary to be afraid of terrorism or other crime only because a suspicious person is black? To give your perception of a dubious man here’s a confusing lead: Osama bin Laden was a white man and a terrorist. It isn’t the color or physical appearance that states whether a human is a criminal or not; it is the work they do.

Giving light to how you take on things, if you wish to see a positive change in the future regarding racism or terrorism, you must be a part of that initiative today. You are lucky to own the power to speak, use your words in the right direction and be a responsible human being. The race for a better future and humanity begins when you decide to be a responsible citizen. Although to reach a level from where your spoken words are heard and implemented, you have to gain the required knowledge that shares facts and to fire the torch of humanity, you have to take your education seriously.

Humanity- The Subject

Moving from humanity as social behavior to humanity as your subject, for which you might look for arts and humanities homework help, you can see the difference between the two. On the one hand, where you have to be socially involved in the other thing you have to read about thousand years ago society norms.

Humanities is a discipline that studies human society; the study of literature, history, art history, philosophy, anthropology, archeology, and so on are some of the subject areas that you study in your entire educational journey. Although humanities aren’t a practical subject and theories you study in your graduation live aren’t applicable in real life. Not just that, but an English-major student might find it hard to get a job. Although, according to a professor at Yale University, humanities are a great subject because it enhances critical and independent thinking.

Apart from critical thinking, some other advantageous skills a humanities student will gain are as follows;

  • Better Communication
  • Teamwork
  • Personal and Social Responsibilities

When you enroll as a humanities student, you might find your studies selective and revolve around getting cheap homework help. But when you look at the bigger picture, how your humanities study can help the humanity of human society, you will be able to bring a countable change in the work you seek.

Why Do We Need the Humanities?

Answering your question on why we need the humanities, you must take the humanities as a subject and social behavior altogether. The social humanities and behavior will show society’s injustice, and the humanities subject will help you relate the old days with the recent times. In the earlier years, the brutality of humanity was at its peak, and how the social activists from that era overcame the injustice.

History is one of humanity’s subjects, and you must have read about Hitler, the leader of Nazi Germany, who orchestrated World War II and the Holocaust. These events led to the deaths of 40,000,000 people. These events were also a shame to humanity because, for the sake of peace, a large portion of the world was disturbed by deaths.

To ensure situations like World War never occur again, and to protect the honor killing of humanity, humans have to be responsible and make the change that doesn’t bring any situation like that.

To help you fight all the odds in your humanities study, you can take homework help from the Online Assignment Expert to get your worry of one end completed so that you can focus on the other part. “Save the World” might seem pathetic and movie-like, but you must follow your rules when you are a trusted countryman.
